About Beth Israel Congregation
Beth Israel is a long established conservative congregation located in Salisbury, Maryland. It was founded seventy-six years ago and is the only Conservative congregation on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The Congregation represents a moderate and flexible approach to traditional Judaism in this area.
Beth Israel has approximately 110 membership units, mostly from Salisbury, but with some from other parts of the Eastern Shore and beyond. The building was constructed in 1951 and has a beautiful and charming traditional sanctuary, adorned with beautiful stained glass windows.
Beth Israel has a full program of services, education for children, adults, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, holiday celebrations, and cultural events. A bi-monthly newsletter keeps the congregation aware of all that is happening in and around our community. We are a very warm and welcoming congregation, and we have full religious privileges and responsibilities for men and women.
